Position Summary:
The Prestige segment is the most dynamic in the international rum market and the one where margins for growth over the next years are higher. Havana Club International (HCI) has identified therefore the need for a dedicated marketing team to create, develop and implement tools to build and expand HC’s Prestige range.
We are looking for a junior marketing person who may be at his/her first marketing experience
The position is based on a 2-year contract.
His/her main tasks are
- Assist the SBM in the development and implementation of relevant tools for the launch/development of the Prestige range products. This can include POS, BTL mechanics, toolkits, brand manuals, etc.
- Assist the SBM in the development and implementation of Innovation projects in partnership with relevant BMC (markets)
- Work in close connection with our two on-the-ground Ambassadors (Cigar Tribe Ambassador and Rum Expert) and develop the relative communication and marketing tools
Key responsibilities:
- Follow up on implementation of prestige Innovation projects (eg: limited editions) according to the strategy and the timing agreed with SBM and BMC: briefing, secure agencies’ delivery of materials, coordinate with Industrial and CRPR teams, prepare recaps and timing updates to share with BMC and internal team (40% of the time)
- Create POS, leaflet, toolkits, etc to communicate assets to markets (20% of the time)
- Update and/or create dedicated mentoring programmes or tasting notes information for each of the products in the range in cooperation with Maestros Roneros (15% of the time)
- Design a work plan for the Ambassadors and develop related assets (15% of the time)
- Manage and deliver repackaging on the Prestige products (10% of the time)

- Pernod Ricard market companies marketing teams (project development and implementation)
- HCI marketing team based in Paris and Cuba (project development/implementation)
- HCI export team (receiving/passing info to markets)
- HCI logistic and industrial team (project development), including strong contact with the rum factory
- HCI finance team (budget monitoring)
- HCI legal team (legal checks and approvals)
External:
- Promotion agencies
- Research agencies
- Material/ pack suppliers
Functional skills and Knowledge :
- Strong organizational capabilities – ability to coordinate and manage respect of timings
- Excellence in execution
- showing attention to details, following good roll out of projects.
- Dedicated and persevering – able to keep pressure on all parts involved to secure respect of timing and work plan
- Languages required: English and Spanish (French is a plus)
