Job description
A specialist Block and Estate Management Company is now recruiting for a Junior Block Property Manager to join an exciting and growing company. The office location for this role is smart new offices in The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells, although the Company manages properties across Kent and South London, with second offices in the heart of Bromley.
Clients include Resident Management Companies and Right to Manage Companies, developers and freehold investors. The portfolio is varied and interesting including large new developments, estates comprising multiple apartment blocks and freehold houses, heritage and listed buildings, and mixed use residential and commercial premises.
The Job Role
Your role will be to assist the property managers in managing a portfolio of properties and to undertake the co-ordination of minor works. Your duties will include liaising with leaseholders, contractors and surveyors, dealing with the administration of minor works processes and general administration duties such as answering telephone calls, dealing with correspondence and updating records.
The ideal candidate will be keen to learn and undergo training, and the company will support you in obtaining industry qualifications (via ARMA, IRPM and associated seminars & courses). This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual seeking genuine career progression within the sector.
Skills and experience
• At least 6 months’ experience of working within the property industry (e.g. lettings / block management) is preferred, and a basic knowledge of minor repairs in domestic property.
• Excellent eye for detail, good customer service and IT skills.
• Professional telephone manner and appearance.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, and able to work with your own initiative.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral).
Salary is competitive, plus bonus and opportunity to progress.
Office hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch. You may occasionally be required to attend AGMs after work to take minutes, and will be paid for any time in addition to your salary.
Holiday entitlement of 22 days plus bank holidays (increasing with length of service). Please note that a driving licence is required, and business mileage costs will be reimbursed.
