Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Trainee Operations Chemist to join our company in the Bristol region. The role is primarily based around the operational and technical delivery of our services to our clients. It is a varied, responsible and demanding position which will require the successful candidate to be a key player in the technical, logistic, planning, customer service and safety aspects of our business operations. The role is likely to suit a recent graduate or a graduate in a technical/operational role looking to make the next career step.

The Company:
Pegasus Waste Management is a hazardous and chemical waste management company specialising in providing environmental solutions for high end industrial, research and defence organisations. We supply expert hazardous waste contracting services to meet the demands of usually complex client requirements. Established 18 years ago and as part of our ongoing expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Trainee Operations Chemist to contribute to our developing business.

Career Development:
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate they are a resourceful, pragmatic and driven operator who in return will benefit from a development programme to take on a central role within the company’s operational activities. Previous knowledge of, or experience in, a hazardous and chemical waste environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.

The successful candidate can expect to acquire significant technical, operational and health and safety experience with early management opportunities unrivalled by many other employers. You will also have the opportunity to receive a variety of training including professional development and additional technical qualifications.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role you will need:

  • University degree at BSc (Hons) in Chemistry or life/earth sciences with a strong pass in Chemistry at A Level as a minimum
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Ability to work in the UK permanently

In addition to the above you will need :

  • An enthusiasm for learning about the hazardous waste treatment industry we operate in
  • Strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer focus with interpersonal skills to match
  • A proactive attitude to team work and collaboration
  • To show you are adept at problem-solving and critical thinking in a variety of contexts
  • Well developed practical skills, and the ability to get things done

  • The job is a mix of field and office based activities, with frequent travel required in the UK, and potentially abroad.
