Business Development Manager

Base £24k - £35k pa; + Uncapped Commission + Car + Mobile

Stockport, Manchester, North West

Looking for a new challenge in 2016? An opportunity has arisen for a sales professional to join a leading parcel management company and same day courier company.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a sales professional to develop their career and earning potential with a company offering excellent scope for progression.

Parcel Station (a part of City Today Couriers) was started in 2003 by its current owners. We have a work hard, play hard motto. Our fast paced industry means no two days are the same.

In the past 5 years it has grown by 850%. This is unprecedented growth in a competitive industry. It is a very exciting time to join a company making a serious impact in the market. The growth has all been UK based; the next 3 years will see a period where we enter the international parcel market opening the door to even more growth. We currently employ 15 people (excluding drivers) and are on target to reach £6m of sales this year. Our target for 2020 is to be managing a company in excess of £20m and employing over 30 people.

To help us make this target, we need to right people with the right mind set to come on board and join our mission.

The right person will be responsible for selling our next day and two day packet and parcel delivery solutions. In addition you will have the opportunity to sell our wider range of offerings including sameday, freight forwarding, import and export delivery options across the North West.

In this key role, you will;

  • Promote and expand the full range of courier services to key niche markets.
  • Build a comprehensive prospect bank in order to achieve new business sales targets.
  • Working alongside the sales team you will prospect and find new opportunities, and progress opportunities to the sale.
  • Target a wide range of sectors and business sizes, one day you can be signing a deal worth £1000, the next a deal worth £1m
  • Be supported by the management team who collectively have 80 years of industry experience, as well as be supported by the entire team.
  • Additionally, you will be required to produce professional reports and presentations
  • Maintain high standards within the sales cycle. Working closely with the Operations Management team you will bring on new clients ensuring their experience is second to none.

To be considered for the role you must have:

  • Sales experience gained within any service industry.
  • Ambition and commitment to develop.
  • A good level of computer literacy.
  • The will to join a team who enjoys what they do.
