Job description
This is an immediate hire for an Applications Support with Linux skills to join a fast-paced telecoms company, offering great learning opportunities and career development. You are working in the critical area of Mediation and Charging within the Billing Department. Main purpose of the role
The Applications Support (Charging and Mediation Analyst) will be responsible for supporting charging /mediation function, troubleshooting billing issues, performing analysis and managing projects related to charging and mediation. Work closely with the business to understand the needs and drivers of the functions they interface with.

* Applications support experience working for a private sector company in the UK
* Confident working with Linux command line and writing advanced SHELL and SQL scripts.
(3 years+ experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Application Support for testbed and production Mediation systems. Perform daily system checks, create weekly KPI, suspended CDR reports, update configuration files, and troubleshoot mediation issues, attend technical meetings with vendor to discuss opened issues and upcoming maintenance releases/system upgrades.)
- Troubleshoot charging and billing issues and propose remedial actions.
- Analyse, resolve or escalate operational issues to relevant teams and own the issue through to resolution.
- Attend cross-functional team meetings to assess business changes that impact charging and mediation.
- Actively participate in implementation of new usage reconciles.
- Act as the contact for Mediation & Charging subject Support Team.
- Manage and provide input for projects that directly or indirectly impact the mediation function.
- Ensure quick turnaround of Customer Billing queries.
Ideally you possess this experience:
- University degree - engineering or IT/telecoms preferred.
- Relevant experience in charging and mediation within the mobile telecommunications industry is preferable. (However for the right candidate training will be given)
- Knowledge of roaming and data rating systems, including all call flows and error handling processes preferable.
- Able to acquire knowledge of the technical inter-workings of company’s systems is required.
- Strong analytical / problem solving ability
- Excellent communication, reporting and interpersonal skills
