HFC Network Planning & Support Engineer (m/w)

about the role

·  HFC network planning & design:
·  prepare both high level & low level design for HFC Network construction or upgrade
·  perform configuration & management of HFC equipment & CMTS
·  maintain & update the network drawing and other technical documentation
·  perform monitoring & analysis of Network performance criteria's
·  participate in HFC projects roll-out
·  direct, coordinate, and actively participate in HFC engineering activities for the project or assigned portion
·  cooperate with subcontractors, develop technical specification for project delivery
·  periodical visit on sites, check and accept the completed work, review & approve the project documents
·  Second level support for HFC Network troubleshooting:
·  periodically provide second level support for HFC Network Troubleshooting (in shifts, by phone)
·  remotely identify & troubleshoot the source of the HFC Network fault using the existent management tools
·  perform monitoring & troubleshooting tasks on the CMTS
·  handle & analyze Network Trouble Tickets
·  handle & execute Request for Changes
·  provide technical solutions & corrective actions based on the fault's analysis
·  cooperate and provide the support to Service Desk (SMC/NOC)
·  dispatch & coordinate the troubleshooting activity with HFC Engineers in a filed
·  provide second level support to fixed operation team

about you

·  university degree in telecommunications, engineering or related fields
·  good knowledge of CATV System, Fiber Optic networks, DOCSIS technology
·  experience in designing of CATV & Fiber Optic Networks, fiber splicing layout, equipment installation & setup, configuration of IP equipment.
·  strong skills in MS Office
·  basic skills in network drawing applications: MapInfo, ArcGIS, AutoCAD
·  ability to find creative solutions to solve problems while staying within practice guidelines
·  driving license cat. B
·  proficiency in Romanian, Russian and English
