about the role

·  offer technical support work related to the overall health and maintenance of the Billing operating system environments (Red Hat/Solaris) in support of 24/7 operations.
·  participate in rotational duty to provide on-call support; including off-hours administration and problem escalation
·  provide administration of a large scale of hardware from standalone stations to high end industrial solutions (HP, SUN) governed by any flavors of UNIX operating system (Linux, Solaris).
·  provide Administration of storage systems and SANs (EMC, HP, SUN, Hitachi)
·  provide Administration of backup solutions (Data Protector, Net backup)
·  provide, when necessary, support for the Development, Test, and Production Environments
·  provide basic systems administration activities, including user account management, server monitoring and maintenance, upgrades, script maintenance and patching
·  assists in daily activities of configuration and operation of systems.

about you

·  university degree in computer science, information systems or a related field
·  experience in monitoring and maintaining Unix Servers administration - including operating system and package installation and maintenance (Red Hat preferred)
·  experience in solving technical issues in a Unix environment
·  experience in shell scripting (including maintenance of existing scripts, software, and documentation),
·  experience with disk and tape storage systems
·  knowledge of networking protocols
·  knowledge of Ethernet and Fiber Channel networking and troubleshooting
·  familiarity with Oracle and MySQL database
·  proficiency in Romanian, Russian and English
