Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (OCPIC) software development team within Oracle's Communications Global Business Group (CGBU) is seeking experienced software engineer. We are seeking candidates with 3-5 years of intensive C++ and Java development experience in a Linux environment and prior telecom or networking experience.

OCPIC is telecom network analytics product that allows CSPs to be agile and nimble with performance/fraud/revenue assurance monitoring in changing telecom eco system and demanding end users. Our team of engineers are expert at 100s of network protocols, Oracle database storing vast amount of data and developing intuitive analytics applications to help CSPs with Network Performance, Service Assurance, Subscriber profiling, Network Security and Marketing campaigns.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Rapid and continuous learning to support new ways OCPIC can be leveraged by CGBU products.

• Design, build new analytics offering using state of the art micro services architecture using state of the art technologies.

o Docker/Kubernetes container platform

o Java and C++ in Linux environment

o Elastic search, Logstash, Kibana, Beats

o Hadoop big data platform.

• Work/Co-ordinate/collaborate with worldwide Oracle Communications team in agile development environment.

• Participate in discussions and maintenance to improve the software performance, maintainability, serviceability, and reliability with worldwide project team.

• Other duties may be assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The OCPIC team is currently seeking someone with 3-5+ years of Java and C++ software engineering in a Linux environment. Prior telecom, networking and/or database experience is expected.

·  Bachelors or MCA equivalent engineering/computer science education spanning 4 years.
·  Strong command on spoken and written English.
·  Strong background on Linux and multithreaded programming.
·  Experience with databases and SQL.
·  Experience with telecom/networking protocol and protocol software development.
·  Ability to work directly from specification like IETF RFCs and 3GPPP TSs.
·  Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
·  Experience with UNIX based development tools and agile development methods is required.
·  Knowledge of software development methodology, build tools and product life cycle.
·  Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced organization.
