Job description

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

Reports to: Head of Programmes & Strategy for EMEA Applications Sales Consulting

EMEA Applications is undergoing a major business transformation and the presales function must evolve to meet the needs of the new SaaS sales processes. This is an exciting role within the central Programmes & Strategy team for EMEA Applications Sales Consulting and the chance to make a real difference to the strategic direction of the organisation. The Sales Consulting Programmes & Strategy team supports the EMEA wide organisation of 600+ sales consultants and managers with a central programmes and strategy function focused on leading this transformation with initiatives to increase the win rate and business revenue.

Working closely with the VP of Sales Consulting as well as the rest of the senior leadership team, the preferred candidate will establish regular organisational messages and keep staff informed on programmes as well as other relevant content. They will collaborate with colleagues across the business (Sales consulting, sales, sales development) to ensure timely and efficient delivery of change. They should be able to maintain excellent standards and juggle multiple priorities on a day-to-day basis.

This role is for someone who is a natural self-starter, friendly and positive with the desire to achieve great things, wants to positively impact the future of Sales Consulting. It must be someone with a high degree of vision and experience and with a track record of implementing programmes across multiple teams. This role would suit someone who has a high degree of creative flair who wants to impact our customer experience on a large scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ü Support the Sales Consulting Managers and Sales Consultant communities with a long term communications plan

ü Deliver regular updates to the community through presentations and webcasts

ü Contribute to building strategy to address the strategic business challenges

ü Own and lead specific programmes related to innovation

ü Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders

ü Draft messages for VP of Sales Consulting and senior leadership team

ü Bring external thought leadership on digital disruption and implement this within Oracle

ü Support the delivery of the EMEA Applications revenue targets

ü Contribute to other programmes as a key member of the Programmes & Strategy team

QUALIFICATIONS

ü Fluency in English essential, a second language is desirable

ü Solid experience with digital and video as a means of communication

ü Experience of working with digital communication tools including HTML, CSS, online publishing, content management systems, drawing tools, editing tools and infographics

ü Experience in a communications team, especially internal communication for a large organisation, is highly desirable

ü Experience of managing multinational programmes with complex stakeholder relationships and delivering within a matrix environment is desirable

ü Solid understanding of Software as a Service and the impact of disruptive technology

ü Experience in a sales / presales desirable

ü Willing to travel (up to 30% of time)
