Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis, and problem solving. Ability to travel as necessary. Prefer 2 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree.

Desired profile

Oracle in Rocklin is seeking CPQ Configuration developers who will work within Product Release to administer Oracle's internal installations of Oracle CPQ, a Configuration, Pricing, and Quoting application. The role will involve both daily maintenance and release work as well as design/development activities.

Specifically, a Config developer will be expected to work with Product Managers, other members of product release organization and Sales Operations to design configuration models. He/She will also help define business processes, develop and implement enhancements using the functionality available in the “Administration Platform”, and to test and troubleshoot application issues, providing appropriate feedback to Oracle's CPQ IT. To be effective, he/she must understand the configuration hierarchy, how to define attributes and place them on layouts, and how to effectively build hiding, recommendation, constraint, and rec item rules. The role also requires proficiency in writing BML (BigMachines Language), BMQL (BigMachines Query Language), and HTML code, as well as a solid foundation in procedural coding logic (e.g., if/then/else, for loop, Boolean logic).

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Basic knowledge of software programming best practices (undergraduate degree that included some computer science coursework or equivalent experience). Must be proficient in at least one software procedural language (e.g., BML, C++, JavaScript, Oracle PL/SQL, Perl, Python)
·  Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM
·  Basic frontend user interface / user experience skills
·  Ability to learn quickly in a challenging environment and work as part of a team or independently to achieve objectives
·  Strong problem solving skills and technical aptitude.
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills
·  Familiarity with quote to cash and/or sales operations a plus.
·  Experience administering a CPQ installation or similar configuration application a plus
