Job Description
This is a universal job description meant to capture some of the primary duties of this role that are common across functions or divisions. It is not intended to represent all of the specific responsibilities of your position. Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. Cycle Counting: This task requires the ability to pay attention to detail, Computer skills, basic math skills, problem solving, written communication, and Forklift Skill. Responsible for operating and entering correct parameters into the JD Edwards Cycle Count Progream. Also responsible for making correction in the JD edwards sytem to reflect the actual quantity counted. Responsible for communicating with Planner/Buyers if counts are incorrect and require inventory adjustments. Basic Warehousing - Responsible for Replacing Stock / Issuing from Warehouse / Loading Trucks: Responsible in replacing accepted raw material according FIFO (First in, FIrst out), Assistance in filling orders in the warehouse. Maintain location log. Receiving: Responsible for receiving incoming Direct and Indirect materials. Review incoming items to check if the items are supposed to come to Alcon. Responsible for performing JD Edwards receiving procedures(creating receivers thru the computer system). Responsbile for noting on carrier's bills of lading any damage that is visible which accured during transit. Deliver received materials to either incoming inspection or requisioner. Stockroom Functions: Responsible for Issuing components to work orders that are given to the stockroom. This requires following stockroom procedures for issuing (FIFO - First In - First Out). Requires following correct documentation practices when filling out the work orders and clearing logs. Responsible for accurate inventory wanding transactions into the JD Edwards program. Stock shelves when items are released.
Regular work schedule: Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Desired profile
High School Diploma or equivalent Fluent in English 1 year of Shipping and Receiving Computer Experience (JD Edwards, Excel, & Word programs), basic math skills (Add, Sub, Multiply, & Divide), ability to solve math and inventory problems, detail oriented, ability to organize, ability to follow written (English) and verbal (English) instruction, ability to do written and verbal of all aspects of the job, ability to be flexible due to assignments changing quickly, and the ability to use basic tools, pallet jack, & operate Fork Lift. Basic Understanding of Standard warehousing/stockroom (FIFO) First in First out procedures.
