As part of the technical GIS Hosting Unix/Linux Services, this role is responsible for:

• Build new solutions (Prototypes, Template, Concept)
• Assist with technical design in projects
• Engineering, configuration, and administration of Unix and Linux Enterprise Architectures
• Assist in Level 1-3 support responsibilities and help train lower level engineers/administrators including creation of Trouble Shooting Guides
• Organize and coordinate the activities associated with installation, deployment, and upgrade or repairs to Unix/Linux infrastructure systems
• Must operate at a Senior level in one of the multiple Unix/Linux OS flavors preferably in Linux or AIX

Service Innovation
• Identify Demand/CSI, trends, (IT) best-practices
• (Joint) Solution Evaluation and Approval As an Engineer, the responsibilities require to
• develop and enforce architectural governance, deployment standards and best practices for Unix/Linux
• including installation, patching and management of systems;
• develop and document deployment procedures. The technical scope of the job includes
• Linux (RHEL), AIX, Sun Solaris, HPUX, SUSE, etc.
• Unix and Linux Administration and Engineering
• Scripting automation skills – perl, ksh, and bash, etc.
• General tools knowledge (monitoring, config management, planning, etc.) The functional scope of the job includes
• Design, Engineering, configuration, and administration of Unix and Linux.

Responsible for the design of the required technology. He/She understands how architectures, strategies, designs and plans fit together and understands all the main aspects of design.

Desired profile

• University working and thinking level, degree in computer science or comparable education
• Fluency (oral and written) in English, any additional language is a plus
• Direct Unix and Linux Administration and Engineering level experience is a plus
• Direct RHEL Engineer level experienceis a plus
