Manage Therapeutic Area (TA) associates locally to drive Novartis message delivery to key influencers and stakeholders.

• Be responsible for medical success of global TA development projects and local trials at the Country Pharma Organization (CPO) level.
• Drive Medical Affairs collaboration of TA associates in the local business franchise and ensure alignment between global project strategy & local CPO needs.
• Lead a team of MSL's & Medical Advisors
• Strategically prepare and support the development, launch and commercialization of drug products through education of Medical Experts/ Key Stakeholders, clinical trial support, and by the scientific exchange seeking external insight to shape Novartis commercial and development programs.
• Provide broad and deep understanding of the therapeutic area cross-functionally. Seen as credible medical and scientific expert by internal and external customers.
• Build scientific partnerships forward with healthcare professionals and decision makers to build advocacy.
• Oversee all local medical and scientific contributions to global clinical development programs as well as together with DS&E local clinical trial adverse event reporting and together with ICRO adherence to GCP.
• Works cross-functionally with other Novartis departments (mainly Marketing, Sales and Market Access partners) to develop aligned strategic plans for the optimal dissemination of clinical evidence by the team in pre and post product launch phases in accordance to local health authority guidelines.
• Provide strategic and tactical guidance for clinical teams and allied department in local CPO. Contribute senior level expertise for CPO projects as member of relevant local management boards (e.g. local Business Franchises, Local Brand Teams), as per assignment.
• Ensure the right mix of Medical Experts in investigators selected for local and global studies and ensures quality of study protocols, study reports, summaries and publications.
• Assist in ensuring local adherence to NP4 and local regulations.
• Develop and support together with TA/ Business Franchises associates external contacts (Medical Experts, influencers, key external customers investigators, academic and regulatory community).

Desired profile

• PhD or Medical Doctor
• German and English fluent. French is a plus
• Proven leadership experience
• Substantial (3-5 years) experience in medical affairs activities and clinical development in a pharmaceutical environment
• In-depth understanding of the Swiss Pharma market place including key dynamics, competitors, country regulatory and market environments
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Change Leadership skills
