The Biologics Center (NBC) at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) is looking for an independent, degree-qualified Scientific Associate with strong experience in the field of protein purification and biophysical profiling to join a research lab providing global project teams with high-quality therapeutic bispecific antibody candidates located in Basel, Switzerland.
This is a diversified research position with a main focus on establishing novel and optimized bispecific antibody formats. As a member of a project oriented lab, you will be responsible for the application of a wide variety of purification techniques, biophysical profiling and initial formulation studies.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to present at global project team meetings and to expand your skills in protein expression and functional characterization of selected therapeutic candidates.
Desired profile
• First degree (MSc/BSc) in protein engineering, protein chemistry or another relevant discipline, or qualification as Lab Technician (apprenticeship/vocational training) with appropriate work experience
• Relevant work experience in an industrial or academic setting; industry experience contributing to research projects within a matrix environment advantageous
• Strong scientific background in state of the art protein purification techniques.
• Strong technical background in HPLC and FPLC instruments
• Experience in cell biology and functional cell based assays is highly desirable
• Familiar with literature search and proven ability to apply findings practically
• Strong team player and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across global project teams
• Being able to present results within the lab and at project team meetings
• Fluency in English (oral/written)
