Novartis is currently recruiting SAS Programmers to join the Real World Evidence team to conduct SAS programming and statistical analysis of large observational databases aligned with Novartis RWE strategies. Data sources include medical and pharmacy claims data, hospital data, electronic medical record data, and prospective observational study data.
Job purpose
Our SAS Programmers conduct efficient data management and statistical analysis using appropriate statistical software (SAS) for observational studies supporting RWE Center of Excellence (CoE) objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce analysis datasets, listings, tables, and figures for research projects.
• Program, according to specifications, analysis datasets, listings, tables, and figures for research projects.
• Ensure that study documentation and specifications are consistent and comply with company standards by providing input into pooled datasets, data structures, specifications of analysis datasets, listings, summaries, figures and tables for observational studies.
• Responsible for the accuracy and reliability of results.
• Develop project timelines and ensure timely delivery.

The Novartis Global Service Center (NGSC), Dublin, was set up in 2013 and is located in a state-of-the-art facility on the Merrion Road in Ballsbridge. Requirements
• Strong programming skills in SAS / R programming and data analysis.
• Prior work experience with data from, for example, electronic medical records, registry databases, and external insurance claims databases for health outcomes research.
• Additional experience in epidemiology, market research, or clinical research is a plus.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills. Highly effective at providing input at meetings, discussions and activities covering aspects of research data management and analysis on research projects.
• Bachelor degree in a relevant scientific discipline, plus a postgraduate degree in a relevant medical data analytic field such as health economics, epidemiology, statistics, health services research, economics, and/or public health.
• Fluency in English.
