Technical
 Ensure compliance with IFRS/IAS and Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM) through execution of “in-market/ BPCR” on-site reviews and assessments. Improve and ensure the quality of account reconciliations at the market level via market visits.

NFCM/SOX
 Establish processes to assist in implementation and validate internal controls according to the requirements of NFCM, SOX and Novartis policies.
 Ensure the effective testing/ validation of identified/ tested key controls for markets in assigned region. Execute training on testing/ validation expectations and assess effectiveness in conjunction with in-market reviews.
 Execute periodic follow-up with all markets towards reporting open action status for remediation of Internal audit, NFCM and/ or BPCRs and assist as required with resolution and implementation of agreed remediation actions.

Trainings and Support
 Perform a comprehensive risk assessment of markets within region on at least a quarterly basis, to identify and prioritize remediation activities for elements/entities of known risk.
 Conduct trainings, in co-operation with Divisional C&C team within Novartis, in the areas of internal controls and fraud awareness
 Provide support, including training and consultation within the framework of agreed interaction, for those assigned markets which are subject to Internal Audit Review. Support assigned markets during all phases of audit, including during remediation and follow-up phases.

Process Excellence
 Utilize Novartis or external methodologies on IQP, Lean and Six sigma to continuously improve and enhance control processes
 Support entities within the assigned Region in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of main business processes and procedures
 Identify/ develop tool/ methodology to simplify the testing process of internal controls to enhance assurance.

Desired profile

University degree 
Fluent in English both written and spoken 
Excellent communication skills, and experience in communication at various organizational levels. 

Strong technical competence acquired in:
- Audit and Financial Reporting & Accounting: Big 4 and/or Public Accounting experience
- External Reporting Function: 3 - 5 year experience acquired in one of these areas in a multinational company
- Internal and/or Compliance Function: 3 – 5 year experience acquired in one of these areas in a multinational company
- Knowledge of Asian markets 
- Experience in internal auditing 
- Strong knowledge of SOX and business processes 
- Project management skills and international experience ability to work cross functional and in teams
