Novartis is currently recruiting for a Procurement Business Partner (Medical/MSO) to join our team at our UK headquarters in Surrey.

We seek an Indirect Procurement Business Partner to lead a multimillion £ spend cover a broad and full spectrum of indirect Medical & MSO (Marketing & Sales Organisation) categories inclusive of local Phase IV studies, observational/retrospective studies, medical audits, congress & events, market research & sales force effectiveness.

Job purpose

We require a Procurement Business Partner (Medical & MSO) to lead, develop and provide local procurement direction, under the direction of the Country Head of Procurement across all areas of indirect spend; including but not limited to Medical, MSO – Congress & Events, Market Research & Sales Force/Business Analytics. In conjunction with the Global Category Teams, this role will deliver a programme of procurement activity for the UK Business Divisions in the UK. This Procurement activity will be delivered within the strategic procurement framework, agreed by the Novartis Procurement Leadership Team (NPLT), utilizing category management techniques that maximize the potential for achieving economies of scale across the Novartis divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• You will be the Customer/Trusted Business Partner; Acting as a trusted business partner to the Novartis business divisions to undertake the following value-add activities:
- Champion the broader NBS Country Procurement team process & procedures
- Involvement & input into annual site operating plans / strategy plans/budgets
- Regular attendance at the appropriate leadership meetings
- Development of annual pipeline (incorporating Global & Regional projects) for the Medical & MSO categories
- Establish and lead cross-functional/divisional teams to manage the development and implementation of local/regional/global projects in line with the category strategies
- Leading demand management discussions with the appropriate business stakeholders (why we are buying instead of how much)
- Reporting/Information requests as required
- Operating plan spend management in conjunction with Business Planning Analyst's
- Leverage and demonstrate cross divisional synergies
- Act as link to the respective category expert locally/Regionally

• Recognized as a procurement professional; a BA/BSc in a procurement related topic is desirable
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified preferred but not mandatory
• A good technical appreciation of the range of procurement categories
• English Essential
• Significant previous procurement experience with responsibility for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings
• Experience of working with a fragmented user base in multiple locations
• Strong leadership in a complex environment with a high level of uncertainty around predicted or future demand
