Novartis Venture Fund, is a \$750-1000 million globally active evergreen venture capital fund focused on investment in health sciences.

Major Activities/Key Responsibilities

• Sources therapeutic, device and diagnostic opportunities and, working with a Managing Director of the Novartis Venture Funds, evaluates the science, products, clinical need, competitive landscape, market opportunities, determining overall business and financial attractiveness of opportunities, performs due diligence on companies incl. financial projections on their development program, exit analyses of the investment and proposes investment opportunities for team review and further to the Scientific Advisory/Investment Committee.
• Supports the oversight of existing Novartis Venture Fund portfolio investments including responsibility for managing relationships with portfolio companies, fiduciary and financial planning.
• Responsible for account reporting, consulting on investment, providing investment input for various investment prospects, supervising outside consultants in providing the necessary information, reports and analysis.
• Responsible for integrating the broader Novartis strategic considerations and activities into the long term investment strategy.
• Expanding the funds' reputation and interaction with the VC community.

Desired profile

• Understanding of the overall vision and strategy for the Novartis Venture Funds.
• This position requires the ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills effective in an international environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-performance team environment.
• 3+ years C-level experience in biotech/med company with additional experience in a major pharmaceutical company desired
• Established network in VC world and know-how of investment process including due diligence.
• Experience in financial analyses and legal matters.
• Proven front-line deal/investment experience.
• US Citizen or a US working permit.
• Enhancing knowledge management and experience exchange in the team.

Education (minimum/desirable):
MBA, Ph.D.or MD (desired but not required),
Languages: Fluent English (oral and written), other languages desirable.
