Lead or support projects for development of primary packaging and/or combination products.

The successful candidate will lead or support the development of primary packaging and/or combination product projects within the Novartis inhalation development team, from clinical early phase activities up to commercialization including production scale-up. This position requires independent working style combined with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
In addition to good project management skills, a strong technical background in primary packaging and packaging processes is crucial to support, monitor and challenge internal and external development partners.

Tasks and responsibilities typically include:
- Project planning,
- Definition of requirements for primary packaging and combination products
- Introduction of new packaging materials
- Management of manufacturing and supply of packaging materials or devices for clinical supplies
- Leading or supporting packaging campaigns for technical, clinical, registration and validation batches
- Development, validation and transfer of testing methods for primary packaging and combination products
- Evaluation and challenging technical solutions, problem solving and risk management
- Accountable expert for packaging within cross-functional drug product development teams
- Authoring GMP documents, protocols and reports related to packaging activities and drive approval workflow
- Supporting the development and review of regulatory dossiers
- Managing the collaboration with internal and external development partners and stakeholders
- May require up to 15% travel

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s or Master degree in Packaging Science/Engineering, Materials or Mechanical Engineering or University level Engineering education.
An ideal candidate would have a relevant degree in Packaging Engineering and a strong track record proven with at least 3 years of experience in the following areas:
- Pharmaceutical development
- Cross functional project management
- Primary packaging
- Equipment qualification, packaging process development and validation
- Testing of packaging and combination products,
- Risk Management
- Documentation of primary packaging/combination products including GMP and Design Control aspects
- Presentation and scientific/technical writing skills
- SAP experience

Very good knowledge of English required (oral and written).
German would be an asset.
