Leads projects to introduce new or improve upon existing injection molding tools, equipment and processes while meeting all quality, timeline and cost targets.
Main responsibilities:
• Coordinate the design and build of new tooling and equipment working with both external and internal injection mold makers.
• Responsible for capital equipment and tooling purchases including justifications, quotes, and selection process.
• Lead validation activities of both thermoplastic and silicone injection molds working with all stakeholders including Production and Quality.
• Prepare complete and accurate records of assigned project activities per the established Quality System and Validation Guidelines.
• Plan and organize project timelines for assigned projects using established Project Management tools. Communicates to management of any cost/delivery related issues for assigned projects.
• Conduct regular project meetings with customers and internally, publishes timely project updates, and follows-up continuously on all open critical path items.
• Generate and maintain documentation for applicable internal processes and procedures, inspection criteria, Bill of Materials, Validation Protocols/Reports and other manufacturing and quality records.
• Conceptualize and develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products, which may include new and/or modified plant, equipment and process needs.
• Interface with customers and suppliers on projects, mold and fixture design, validation, product quality issues, and executes on automation related projects.
• Identify, initiate and implement projects to improve productivity and reduce scrap/reject rates through effective training of production personnel and process enhancements.
• Develop and leverage product knowledge to ensure Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) are consistently met.
• Maintain and improve product quality by performing and documenting robust root cause investigations and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.

Minimum requirements
Minimum Education Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• English
Preferred Education Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Plastics Engineering
Minimum Experience Requirements:
• 2 years experience in high volume molding and manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience Requirements:
• 2 years experience in medical device manufacturing or other highly regulated industry.
• Technical experience in injection molding of thermoplastics related to Design for Manufacturability of molds, processing of thermoplastics, robotics, automation and hot runner systems.
• Strong customer/supplier/vendor communication and follow-up skills.
• Metric driven proven success in meeting project completion dates and cost targets.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment of medical or healthcare products.
• Working knowledge of Validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Working knowledge of engineering terminology and technical experience with injection molding of thermoplastics, processes, tooling and validation protocols.
• Familiarity with statistical problem solving techniques • Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Knowledge of FDA regulations and other international compliance standards.
• Competency in the following software: MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
