The Head of Human Resources at the Novartis Site has the following accountabilities
• Staffing
- Governance over attracting, training and retaining the best talent available aligned with site mission & strategy
• HR Processes
- Compensation and benefits schemes designed to attract motivate and retain associates that contribute to our high performance organisation, aligned with site mission & strategies as well as Novartis regulations as an equal opportunity employer.
- Governance over all HR processes, incl. administration of pension fund and including absenteeism rates, turnover, vacation, performance appraisal, OTR process, International Assignment Management, Talent Management review.
- Ensure a smooth follow up of the Outsourcing of Payroll to TDS/Fidelis for the site
• People Measures
- Ensure fair treatment and equal opportunity for all associates
- Support actively D&I Initiatives
• Talent Management and Process Oriented Organisation (POO)
- To develop leadership talent for the current and future growth of Novartis and ensuring that reasonable succession plans are in place for the site.
- Define the strategy to implement next steps of POO
• Employee Relations
- Develop and manage the employee relations environment including employment law, collective bargaining, employee involvement and participation and trade union representation.
• Change Management
- Support the site in establishing the future vision and direction of the site and to contribute to energising the organisation to produce dramatic change to deliver exceptional performance through People & Capability Master Plan
• Training
- Site Governance for compliant training processes and training organisation;
- Site Governance for a training organisation, processes and culture focusing on effective people & capability building, aligned with site mission and strategy
Desired profile
Education: • University Degree Batchelor or higher, and/or commercial degree with additional HR Relevant education.
Languages: • Fluent in German and English required
Experience: • Extensive experience in proactively understanding business challenges and partnering with Senior Management to develop HR mechanisms to deliver business plans.
• Significant experience within an HR function or in a people management role.
• In-depth functional expertise including the application of employment law within the corporate environment including local labour law legislation
• Able to demonstrate the ability to implement programmes / services within a highly demanding cross functional environment.
• Evidence of excellent relationship building, networking skills with individuals at all levels.
• Demonstrable communication skills including coaching, training and presenting skills.
• Evidence of partnership skills to ensuring quality HR delivery
• Knowledge of HR best practices and trends and the ability to identify practical solutions.
• The ability to identify new ways of working and implement change.
IT: • Good knowledge of MS Office and other Standard applications
