Novartis is currently recruiting for Medical Science Liaison to join the Oncology Business Franchise to work with Breast Cancer and Renal Cell Carcinoma.
Territory: South West England and Wales
Job purpose:
The purpose of the Medical Science Liaison role is field based, non-promotional medical and scientific role. Their key objective, as a member of the Oncology medical department, is to build partnerships with external healthcare professionals in order to improve patient care solutions by communicating evidence based critical scientific, technical and development issues relating to Novartis products/compounds and the therapeutic areas.
Specific areas of work include: scientific, evidence based communication and education with medical experts, regional support of clinical trials, leading and executing medical projects, identifying potential research opportunities, publications and support of medical educational programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product scientific exchange to target KIPs - build long term relationships
• Deliver trials, education and guidelines
• Deliver targeted trialists for global and local studies
• Respond to medical enquiries in a high quality and timely manner
• Deliver competitive insights on therapy area to business Input to KOL mapping

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience working as a MSL, ideally within Breast Cancer and RCC specialty areas
• Either medically qualified or possesses a PhD qualification or a qualified pharmacist, or higher degree (scientific/medical background, MD, PhD, MRPharmS, MSc, MB BS, MB ChB, DPhil), or possess a scientific qualification (BSc) with significant medical/clinical experience
• Significant experience of working in Oncology
• The ability to understand, process, communicate and present scientific information to a high standard
• Excellent influencing, networking, presentation and communication skills to proactively drive scientific dialogue and communicate “medical value” all areas of the role
