Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Medical Advisor role is to support the strategy and clinical development, the launch and the commercialization of drug products to consolidate Novartis’s market position by providing medical information of compounds and indications and to collaborate closely with other departments and external stakeholders in the field. To build awareness around the Novartis pipeline and to support Product Solutions which are aligned with compound or brand strategy by exchanging scientific information and supporting clinical trials and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• To support a Nordic/national study strategy in each individual indications
• To contribute to international studies through Medical input for Clinical Development Plans, study protocols, choice of study centres, feasibility, commitment of recruiting measurements.
• To contribute to international and regional studies and work alongside GMO and HQ/ORE.
• To develop study concepts, inspection plans and study finalization reports for national studies.
• To develop and support NIS.
• To support IITs.
• To write articles, publications and congress reviews.
• As part of their role as medical rep, to attend medical meetings, Brand/Core Indication Team meetings, New Product-Team meetings and Business Reviews, as appropriate.
• To develop close working relationships with physicians, KOLs and other partners in the health environment also by means of their organisation and management of Advisory/Technical Boards.
• To be primary point of contact and relationship owner of patient advocacy groups
• To participate and contribute actively, as medical representative and content expert, in Brand/Core Indication Teams relative to upcoming launches, Life-Cycle Management and Marketing concepts, so as to support the team on scientific and clinical issues.
• To keep up to date with the market and study (academic) environment regarding medical trends and clinical studies. To share and disseminate medical information within the organization.
• To ensure the implementation and conduct of Expanded Access Programs, Compassionate Use Programs and Individual Patient Supply Programs (IPSP).
• To plan and control the Phase-IV-Budget for project activities within their respective country
• To participate in the Preparation of medical or development audits as necessary.
• To be responsible for building medical / scientific liaison for specific brands / compounds.
• To support compliance in all interactions throughout the organization and maintain ongoing liaison with Regional and Local compliance functions to ensure that all processes and activities are in line with internal and external policies (NP4, EFPIA, global guidelines).

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
• Medically qualified and registered physician or PhD/PharmD
• Higher medical qualification or science degree preferred
• Norwegian as national language,
• English: fluent written & spoken.
• More than 2 years’ experience in clinical medicine and/or clinical research (preferred)
• Knowledge of the indication oncology (preferred)
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Medical and scientific writing skills.
