Joining the Novartis Center of Excellence of Real World Evidence (RWE) Team as an intern provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into how real world data can support pharma’s portfolio, indications and strategy.
Real World Evidence leverages large data sets to better understand diseases and patient experiences throughout a product’s lifecycle. Questions that can be addressed with Real World Data (RWD) can be related to burden of the disease, drug utilization, safety, effectiveness, etc.
Major Accountabilities
Support Implementation of RWD analytics projects:
- Preparation of project plans, e.g. including process flow, milestone tables, decision points for feasibility assessments, go/no-go criteria
- Preparing key project meetings, e.g. including slides for project updates and discussions
- Supporting project tracking and reporting
- Ensure flawless execution of studies by vendors
Country level support:
- Kick off meetings, Protocol and SAP sign-off, Results readout, Report signoff, Publications, Project templates
- Co-ordination of the execution of retrospective non-interventional studies (NIS)
- Vendor coordination
Support regional capability building activities:
- Training support
Contribute to the development of department-level standards, tools and templates
Duration of internship: March 1, 2017 - May 31, 2017
Desired profile
Minimum requirements
• Students currently enrolled in Master’s Degree in: Statistics, Pharmacy, Epidemiology, Biology and Health Economics. Also Master Postgraduates will be considered. (Graduation not longer than 6 months ago)
• Fluent in English (both verbal and written), additional languages is a plus
• Action oriented, excellent organization skills, ensuring delivery to target and expectations
• Customer focus - Cares about customer needs and expectations, dealing with them in a timely fashion
• Informing - Provides relevant and timely updates to stakeholders, ensuring issues are raised early
• Managing/measuring work - Ensures plans are kept up to date and status is regularly reported.
• Perseverance - Skills in driving outcomes to meet customer needs, with an understanding of how to overcome challenges to meet tight schedules
• Strong written/verbal communication skills. Highly effective at providing input at meetings, discussions and activities covering aspects of research data management and analysis on research projects
• Strong team spirit
