Role Purpose:
Function as a key early talent support of the assigned REFS (Real Estate & Facilities Services) team in the Health Safety Environment & Business Continuity Management Function (HSEBCM) with a focus on overseeing implementation of effective HSE&BCM management systems.
The incumbent will support, coordinate, and gain solid understanding of all the activities and projects related with the function. The program enables the incumbent to better understand the function, all the key information, in order to support decision taking.
The incumbent will take ownership of their rotations, with support from executive-level mentors, and program manager, and is expected to gain experience in global and affiliate locations.
The rotations vary depending on the function assigned (at least two rotations of 9-12 months).
Major Accountabilities:
HSE&BCM (Health Safety Environment & Business Continuity Management)
Oversee implementation of elements of an effective HSE&BCM management systems. Leadership actions are involved as highlighted below:
Leadership:
• Work with the Global HSE&BCM function to participate in developing the strategy and oversee the implementation at Sites, Countries, or Clusters.
Implementation and Operations:
• Ensure systems are in place to demonstrate and verify compliance with all HSE&BCM regulatory requirements, other externally driven requirements and conformance to all Novartis HSE&BCM Standards.
• Along with line management and teams, participate in the implementation of one of the key projects of HSE&BCM at his/her level (risk assessment, Be Healthy, Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, BCM, etc.).
• Monitor the HSE&BCM Management System and supporting programs (e.g., Chemical Safety, Biosafety, Radiation Safety, Office Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Compliance, Occupational Health, Business Continuity, Novartis Emergency Management (NEM), and others). Notify team when actions are needed and propose and lead the action plan.

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
Note, locals only to East Hanover, NJ; no relocation is provided.
Education:
Bachelor degree is required. Focus in occupational health, industrial hygiene, health management, or related is strongly preferred.
Advanced degree is desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
Working knowledge of additional languages is desirable (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Mandarin).
Experience/skills:
- Maximum of 3-5 years of related experience for this Early Talent / entry-level program and role level.
