Develop and build health economic models and tools in alignment with Global and Regional HEOR strategies, to effectively demonstrate the value of Novartis brands across the world.
Major Accountabilities:
• Drive hands on economic assessments for products at all stages of development and launch, using cost effectiveness, cost utility (eg markov chain, decision analytic, DES), cost minimization, budget impact, and other techniques, as appropriate. Deliverables will include the modeling strategy, model structure, programmed model, technical report, user's guide, and presentation files.
• Work closely with HE&OR Program Directors, HE&OR Franchise Heads and Clinical Development Units as required, to support needs for HE modeling and assessments that can support brand value evaluation
• Take ownership of deliverables and drive customer interaction and communication
• Collaborate with functional heads and team leads in driving quality and accuracy of de-liverables; constantly work on improving systems, processes and quality matrices that add value to the existing solutions and offerings.
• Establish quality standards and ensure most innovative methods used for the develop-ment of cost-effectiveness models and budget impact models (whether built internally or with external experts)
• Oversee country roll out and training of global HE models; support country response to payer inquiries including subgroup scenario analyses/modeling.
• Develop and manage strong collaborations with HE modeling KOLs, academic re-searchers, and vendors to ensure latest and most innovative modeling methods used at Novartis.
• Lead and implement innovative modeling approaches across franchises using state of the art methodologies
• Drive impactful, pragmatic communication of model results, customized to audience needs.
Desired profile
Ideal Background
Education:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
Graduate degree (Masters or Doctorate) in a relevant science/pharmacy/IT/quantitative fields. Education in health economics, epidemiology, health services research, Economics, and/or public health a plus.
Languages: English fluent
Experience:
Experience in conducting health services or related research, including hands on experience building and evaluating health economic models.
• Demonstrated thorough skills in modeling software (e.g. Excel, TreeAge, R,Visual Basic, ARENA)
• Working knowledge of health care reimbursement and HTA review processes
• Ability to arrive at simple yet robust analysis and insights from complex data sources; ability to convert hard/raw data into meaningful analysis
• Organizational, planning, resource and project management skills. Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to operate effectively in an international environment.
