Job Description

Responsible for implementing and driving the global cross-functional business operations for Drug Supply Management (DSM) across geographies/legal entities. Acts as point of contact for overall communications globally. Ambassador for the cultural change towards empowerment, engagement and innovation. Leads, drives and implements strategic organizational initiatives, coordinates change management and process improvement plans and aligns relevant projects globally.

Major accountabilities include:
1) Lead global cross-functional programs or projects and apply methodology and process expertise addressing complex operations for DSM.
2) Ensure that DSM organizational strategic business initiatives and activities are aligned with stakeholders.
3) Drives the development and implementation of the global communication strategy and be the internal communication point of contact.
4) Collaborates with DSM Head and DSM Line Function Heads to define, review and implement organizational development strategies across DSM globally.
5) Leads Change Management activities for key projects within DSM; performing stakeholder assessments, defining communication and implementation plans, rolling out plans in alignment with project milestones, acting as key liaison between global project team, external change managers and DSM associates.
6) Acts as key interface between HR and DSM business partners to align and provide input into people processes, such as Talent Management, Appraisals etc. Supports DSM Head in the development, planning and monitoring of people management processes.
7) Support team building activities. Coach associates to enable efficient decision making in achieving objectives, on how to handle conflicts and other arising issues. Fosters an environment for change and explain rational for change. Facilitate an open and collaborative environment.
8) Drives continuous improvement through coaching and mentoring in order to enable performance, to remain innovative, competitive and compliant: identify, support and encourage ideas to improve processes and day to day work.
9) Work in partnership with Head DSM to ensure organizational and administrative ac-curacy and timeliness of internal operations as well as external deliverables.
10) Perform capability gap analyses from operational and strategic view points for DSM leadership team and assist in securing sufficient resources.
11) Responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the LT meetings as a platform for unit decisions and cross-functional sharing of information and discussion.
12) Responsible for leading process improvement initiatives and ensuring that processes developed/improved are compliant.
13) Proactively communicate key issues and any other critical topics in a timely manner to the appropriate management level.
14) As member of the DSM global leadership team ensure proper communication of all relevant topics for the unit.

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

Education:
Minimum: Masters degree (MSc) in scientific or relevant discipline.
Desirable: MBA in addition to minimum requirements

Language:
Excellent English required (oral & written)

Professional experience:
1. 10+ years of relevant experience in development environment or closely related area, e.g. Drug De-velopment
2. Successfully demonstrated several years (5+ years) in project management or operations management
3. Proven track record of successfully managing interfaces to other functions.
4. Recognized expertise in cross-functional process development.
5. Broad scientific as well as strategic background.
6. Excellent track record of innovation, creativity, problem solving and productivity in projects.
7. Proven key contributions to development projects, marketed products and Novartis strategic activities.
8. Good understanding of development processes and drug development activities.
9. Proven track record to lead interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
10. Excellent leadership skills.
11. Excellent communication/presentation skills.
12. Advanced coaching and mentoring skills.
