“Getting our science out there” – to optimize the communication of our products’ possibilities in the market, our field force must have access to all possible tools to this end. In addition to knowledge of the products themselves, it is also about the competence for optimal dissemination of this knowledge. To achieve this, we are seeking a Field Trainer who will strengthen our existing team and who will contribute to the achievement of our level of ambition.

Job Purpose:
Achieving an optimal level of knowledge, skills and attitude in our Sales Field Force, in such a way that this contributes maximally to turnover and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Analysis and evaluation of the target group’s training requirements (Sales Reps) in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
• Development of training programmes for the individual members of the target group:
- drafting training goals tailored to the individual level of development;
- alignment of training goals with the Sales Manager.
• Execution of the individual training programme for the members of the target group:
- analysis of conversations (on the basis of communication skills, product knowledge and medical knowledge);
- written reporting of progress and of points needing attention with regard to commercial conversational skills;
- learning points and actions to be undertaken with regard to coaching in sales dialogue, and monitoring follow-up.
• As a focus point for staff development, lending support in conducting group sessions with doctors (practising beforehand and lending support during the sessions).
• On the basis of experiences in the field, in collaboration with the Training Manager and Product/Brand Manager, provision of input regarding conversational flows.
• Identification of and advising on new developments in the area of sales communication and field training methodologies so that courses and trainings can be quickly adapted to changed circumstances.
• Drawing up annual and quarterly planning for the field training activities of the members of the target group.
• Development and execution of practically oriented trainings with the sales teams, including:
- Specific workshops based on learning needs;
- Organisation of conversational training sessions;
- Compilation of the programme, based on the region’s, BT’s and Marketing’s learning needs;
- Leading and coordinating the regional conversational trainings;
- Final responsibility for the smooth running of the day’s programme;
- Analysis and evaluation of role plays;
- Development and implementation of new forms of training;
- Coordination of the training days;
- Formulation of individual learning points and translating these into training on the job;
• Elaboration of methods of working during cycle meetings, including the creation of specific case studies for role plays; monitoring role plays.
• At sales management’s request, providing workshops for customers such as communication skills and meeting skills training.

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

You have:
• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in pedagogics or teacher training.
• At least two years of general experience as a field worker in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Preferred work experience: 3–5 years of experience as Sales Rep in the pharmaceutical industry, training or coaching experience.
• Fluent in both Dutch and English
• Strong analytical and consulting skills
• An entrepreneurial attitude: you have a result-driven personality, take initiative and responsibility
