The EDI IT Analyst is the role to translate business needs into technical requirements within their specific area of expertise. Additionally, this role captures, analyzes, correlates and reports on B2B/EDI technical service, application and process data to ensure optimal performance and identify improvement opportunities.
It also supports the design, development and deployment of IT Services, applications, systems and processes through analysis of strategy and objectives of the organization, external influences such as competitors, regulatory requirements, best in class practices, and economic factors, as well as thorough understanding of the business processes being supported by the IT Organization.

Major Accountabilities
-IT professional delivering technical expertise in support of IBM B2B Sterling Integrator application solution, business processes or customer facing.
-IT Services Supports the identification and analysis of business requirements and processes, to develop and implement a B2B integration solution between external EDI Trading Partners or Vendors and Novartis internal applications (e.g. SAP) to support on-going operations, projects, IT Services or business processes.
-Analyzes basic B2B/EDI performance data and provides ad-hoc and periodic reporting to the relevant stakeholders.
-Ensures effective coordination, delivery and maintenance of B2B/EDI integration solutions to be used in support of Novartis global growth strategy. This includes the following areas: +Communication/Change Management +Project Documentation +Configuration/Setup

-Sustained maintenance and operations support.
-Ensuring compliance to applicable standards ( e.g. ICE, IGM, SOX, EDI as applicable, other regional and local as appropriate.)

Desired profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Technology or related IT field.
• Good oral and written communications skills in English are essential.
• Multilingual abilities are preferred in a Global environment.
• Communicates factual, sometimes complex, information to internal and/or external contacts. Internal and external interaction requires exchange of factual information.
• Audience is typically peer group familiar with subject.
• Required experience with ANSI X12, EDIFACT, Tradacoms and relevant XML EDI Standards.
• Has 2+ years of B2B/MFT/EDI expertise.
• Experience using IBM Sterling Integrator and integration knowledge with SAP is an advantage.
• Desired experience with B2B communication protocols including AS2, SFTP and Connect Direct with interaction directly with the Trading Partner or Value Added Networks (VAN).
