Diagnostics Sales Consultant- New Orleans Territory
Position Summary:
Our Diagnostics Sales Consultants sell the Genoptix oncology diagnostic testing offerings to Oncologists, Hematologists and Pathologists in community practice and institutional settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote and sell medical diagnostic services to target physicians, medical assistants, lab managers as defined by the Marketing Plan.
Manage customer relationships in a defined geographical territory in order to strengthen the Genoptix brand.
Meet or exceed assigned sales volume targets.
Coach/mentor Account Managers through direct or indirect reporting.
Develop call plans, training schedules, development plans for subordinates as required.
Coordinate appropriate support resources (client services, telemarketing, technical) to maximize and strengthen customer relationships.
Maintain sales prospect lists/sales funnels as required to achieve sales volume targets.
Maintain a detailed customer database within CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
Design and implement Quarterly Business Plans for assigned geography.
Attend technical and sales training programs to further development competencies.
Manage company expenses within policy and defined budget.
Provide timely feedback to management regarding market trends, competitor activity, new product/service improvements.
Demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all customer/company interactions, respect patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations.
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
Attends trade shows as a representative of the Company in a sales/technical capacity.

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; Life Sciences focus preferred but not required.
RN/LPN/Medical Technologist certification very helpful.
3-5 years of successful selling experience in the medical diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical market.
Experience selling directly to private practice Oncologists desired.
General knowledge of cancer disease states and the tests required to diagnose cancer.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop an assigned sales territory with minimal supervision.
History of routinely exceeding sales targets
Previous laboratory experience (med tech, lab tech) desired
Exceptional communication and presentation skills are required, both verbal and written.
Computer Skills
Solid Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & PDA experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Driver's license and current auto insurance required.
Other Qualifications
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. May involve significant driving/flying in order to manage the territory.
