Genoptix Medical Laboratory, a division of Novartis, is focused on developing and commercializing evidence-driven diagnostic tests to improve physicians' ability to optimize patient outcomes.
We're currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team in the position of:
Client Services Representative I
Position Summary:
Engages in, and maintains regular communication with physicians, medical office staff, outside sales representatives and internal medical staff, for the purpose of supporting, documenting and coordinating laboratory testing services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Speaks with medical office staff by phone to advise on packaging of medical samples and arrange pick-up and/or transport of samples via Federal Express or courier.
Confirms selection of laboratory testing services and received additional authorization and documentation for test performance.
Obtains mandated information and documentation for test performances such as patient information, specimen type, billing information, etc.
Provides information on pending/resulted patient reports or status of laboratory testing.
Answers appropriate technical questions and/or triage calls to internal medical staff for resolution.
Supports general Client Services activities by building specimen shippers, handling ordering and distribution of client supplies, distribution of patient reports and necessary general client mailings or notification of service changes through direct interface with clients and/or sales representatives.
Logs and tracks all in-bound/out-bound calls using SIM, to establish and meet metrics for appropriate levels of client service, as well as potentially other benchmarks such as requisition completion statistics, tests ordered, etc., including client complaints.

Desired profile
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience in the clinical laboratory or medical office setting and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as training manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using computer applications. Excellent verbal skills and knowledge of medical terms.
Must be comfortable with conflict resolution over the phone and maintenance of professional phone demeanor at all times.
Ability to work efficiently in Microsoft Office including creation of spreadsheets in Excel; and ability to take notes via computer keyboard during telephone conversations.
After initial training period, will require general knowledge of Genoptix Laboratory Information System (APAnyWhere) for query of report status, client information, test performance, etc.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to reason and react quickly and in the least disruptive manner possible to the office or physician.
