Job Purpose
As a Brand Manager, your main responsibilities will consist of providing leadership and clear direction to sales & extended brand team, as well as analyzing and anticipating future trends in disease management and market environment, which are likely to affect the performance and potential of the brands.
Major Accountabilities
• Develop, implement and manage all promotional and disease education initiatives (tools, programs) directed at the Health Care Professional (HCPs)
• Understand the nature of the competitive market place, anticipate potential impacts likely to impact the performance and potential of the brands
• Follow the implementation of cycle promotion with field force, analyze feedback, and propose changes and improvements when necessary
• Devise and recommend appropriate product strategies through the analysis of available data (sales reports, market data and marketing research reports)
• Develop and maintain preferred partner relationships with key customers across Canada in collaboration with the Sales team, Medical Science Liaison Managers (MSLs) and Trade and Retail National Account Manager field team.
• Support the Marketing Director in the attainment of annual goals and KPIs for the brand.
• Work in collaboration with the Ophthalmology Franchise to optimize cross division synergies.
• Support the Marketing Director in the development of internal and external presentations (IPS, Cx Planning, Consult meetings, Brand Team & Sales Meetings/Training)
• Manage a cross functional team including Sales, Medical, Regulatory, e-Business, Communications, and Market Research to ensure optimal development and execution of brand strategy
• Foster strong working relationships with our global/region teams to leverage best practices and demonstrate leadership of Canada
• Communicate effectively within the organization to ensure the motivation and alignment of sales force(s) and other stakeholders to achieve product objectives
• Maintain full accountability for financial & supply forecasts, brand performance, and annual A&P budget; monitor/seek approval for key program spending.
• Ensure adherence to all internal & external codes
• COMPULSORY: Associate shall be accountable to perform all duties listed in Role Profile in accordance with applicable GxP principles, and internal/external regulations (e.g. Novartis Code of Conduct, Novartis Pharma Principles and Practices for Professionals (NP4), Innovative Medicines Code of Ethical Practices, Health Canada and all other relevant regulations).
Desired profile
Minimum requirements
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business or Health Sciences
• MBA preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Pharmaceutical Sales AND at least 3 years in another Commercial role (e.g. business analyst, training, medical education, etc.)
• Previous marketing intelligence, digital marketing, OTC brand management experience
• Previous experience in Ophthalmology is an asset
• Experience in a highly competitive market place is a strong asset
