A key member of the Finance team and Operations Business Partner, your role will be to define, provide and interpret accurate and timely information to management. You will provide support to the Financial Controller by providing accurate information, adhering to reporting deadlines, and ensuring statutory compliance in reporting.
You will build relationships to provide support to the business and communicate across all functions and levels. The key duties and responsibilities of the role include:
•Month end process, particularly Department spend, Variance analysis, Fixed Asset reporting and Headcount reconciliation.
•Local and Divisional reporting as required completed accurately and on-time.
•Involvement in the Budget and Forecast process, developing the overhead costs for the facility and administering updates and changes throughout the process.
•Participation in the Capital budget process and tracking of annual spend.
•Ensuring all asset expenditure is appropriately authorized within Alcon procedures and controls.
•Generate and post AR invoices, allocate payment and reconcile accounts.
•Support of manufacturing contracts for Alcon Ireland to local and corporate standards.
•Ensure all activities are performed within Novartis internal controls standards and support internal and external audits as required.
•Coordination with the Materials team to ensure compliance, correct reporting and obtaining most favourable duty treatments/rates for imports.
•Completion of gross margin analysis.
•Project work including finance input to Process & IT systems.
•Responsible for site insurance and annual renewals.
•Cost Accounting and reporting to be completed as necessary, including Inventory reconciliations, overhead and scrap posting and variance calculations.
•Ensuring continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established and evolving Alcon and Novartis QS requirements.
Desired profile
Candidates should have:
•ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA Qualified.
•At least 2-3 years accounting experience, preferably in a Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industry.
•Strong Financial accounting and internal controls knowledge.
•Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, plus strong knowledge of fully integrated accounting operating system –eg, JDE, Oracle.
•Knowledge of customs and tariff codes an advantage.
•Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively impart financial information to a non-financial audience at all levels of a multi-national organisation.
•Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
