Project Description:
This intern position supports the Supplier Quality Development (SQD) department within Purchasing. SQD's function is to evaluate a supplier's capability and performance in regard to meeting Nissan's quality objectives. Activities of the department in which the intern would be expected to contribute include:

• Providing quality assessments on existing suppliers being proposed for future business awards.

• Qualifing new suppliers for future business based on quality audits of the supplier's manufacturing facility

·  Supporting suppliers who have been identified as high risk for quality issues approaching a new model launch
·  Working with existing suppliers whose quality performance is not meeting expectations
·  Publishing monthly scorecards tracking each supplier's performance against key quality metrics
·  Overall department improvement activities

Qualifications:

·  A strong work ethic and desire to provide meaningful contributions to the group.
·  Ambitious and creative problem solving skills.
·  Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
·  Must be able to function autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, at times with limited direct supervision and be able to offer meaningful solutions.
·  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
·  Project management skills are also required.

Day or regional travel may be required.

Education:

·  Must be currently enrolled in school; Sophomore level or above

·  Engineering related 4 year degree required

·  Minimum 3.0 GPA
