We're currently looking for a Safety Engineer supporting our Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs) located throughout the United States. This position is based out of our Smyrna, TN site, but will require travel 50-75% of the time.

Job Functions

·  Serve as the lead contact and subject matter expert for safety/industrial Hygiene/ergonomic issues. This position is very hands–on and requires problem solving skills.
·  Participate in development of safety strategies and objective with non-mfg. safety manager and PDC management.
·  Review current safety programs/policies/practices to determine their adequacy and develop/update and implement as needed. Conduct risk analysis, compliance audits, etc. to identify areas where safety improvements are recommended. Work with the on site team to develop and implement countermeasures.
·  Develop and conduct safety general and compliance training as needed.
·  Facilitate investigation for work related incidents to determine causes and preventive measures.
·  Perform safety data analytics for PDC and forecast scenarios. Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
·  Review plans and specifications for new machinery, equipment or processes, to ensure safety requirements have been met.
·  Develop safety business cases for new programs and upgrade to existing Minimum Qualifications

·  Extensive knowledge of State and Federal safety standards.
·  Demonstrated experience in selling safety concepts and solutions to management.
·  Demonstrated experience in developing and conducting safety training virtually and in person.
·  Demonstrated experience with conducting compliance audits, risk assessments, etc. Demonstrated experience in facilitating, development, and implementation of recommended countermeasures.
·  Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing safety programs.
·  Demonstrated experience in leading/working with cross-functional teams on successfully implementing safety programs and processes.
·  Knowledge and demonstrated experience with key safety standards including lockout/tagout, confined space, machine guarding, hazard communication, etc.
·  Minimum of 3 years or more of related experience at a professional level required; preferably in adistribution center/warehouseenvironment
·  B.S. Degree in Engineering or Safety or related field with a minimum of 3 plus years of experience in safety/ergonomics/IH.
·  Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Power point. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including email and telephonic.
·  Travel: 50-75% Domestic travel in a year.
