Nissan is currently seeking a dynamic self-motivated individual to fill an opening for an Engineer II, Supply Chain Management at our Smyrna, TN location.

Job Description

·  Responsible for evaluating existing processes at supplier facilities in order to determine feasibility of relocating portions of the manufacturing process to Nissan Plants (Onsite).

·  This position has a high level of autonomy and requires a self-starter with a proactive approach to identify and complete critical tasks. The potential candidate should have the ability to take on a leadership role and work effectively with vendors as well as our internal organization. Candidates require strong mechanical aptitude, organization, prioritization, and planning skills (able to handle multiple projects simultaneously), and the ability to effectively communicate complex or technical issues with business leadership Responsibilities and Duties:

·  This position will offer the opportunity to expand your background in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on equipment installation, facilities expansion and project management. Responsibilities will include:
·  Evaluate manufacturing processes at suppliers and validate feasibility for In/On site relocation
·  Collect, record, and transcribe data
·  Prepare process relocation feasibility studies. Create Business Case for Management approval
·  Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process
·  Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process
·  Support construction in planning, scheduling and supervising installation activities
·  Ensure projects are completed on time
·  Ensure financial budgets are met Basic Qualifications:

·  BS in a technical discipline required from an accredited University, (BS Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering)
·  Strong lean manufacturing /JIT/TPS experience as a manufacturing engineer (automotive preferred) – including tooling, fixturing, and assembly experience preferred. Any layout, process flow, robotics, PLC, controls, automation, stamping, injection molding, casting, machining experience a plus
·  Experience in manufacturing assembly processes and project execution is preferred.
·  Candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, problem solving and leadership skills are required
·  Ability to run projects across departmental lines. Coordination between departments, divisions, or subsidiaries and top management.Strong presentation, interpersonal communication, and relationship management skills
·  Analyze cost savings and develop projects related to cost savings
·  Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel is preferred
·  Candidate should also be flexible to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20%.
·  Understand supply chain route of materials from the manufacturing location, be able to create process flow map/diagram to describe a supply chain or manufacturing process
·  Understand process layout concepts and optimize equipment arrangement within infrastructure
·  Understand and perform basic calculations to determine capacity/dimensions/criteria for processing equipment.
