We're currently looking for an Interior/CPM Design Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Results to be accomplished:
· Work with plastics and metal materials in Interior layout and assembly (instrument panel, console, cock pit area, pillar garnish, cargo trim, shelf trim).
· Bring to closure, open items between department and/or functional groups keeping cost, weight, performance and the customer's needs in balance while ensuring all components meet program timing requirements by use of e-mail and face-to- face discussions.
· Multitask components or systems between vehicle lines from current production maintenance, pre-launch and advance engineering to achieve timely and appropriate closure.
· Daily use of the IDEAS CAD systems to check the design & engineer component parts to achieve systems and vehicle performance targets.
· Coordinate Design Studio, Vehicle Development, Body Metal (BIW), Suppliers, Tool Shops, Restraints, Wiring, and other design departments to ensure high quality design execution that meets the required functional, packaging, and appearance requirements.
· Ensure Best Practices are implemented in the designs.
· Support builds in the pilot plant and in the vehicle assembly plant.
· Determine root cause and short and long term corrective actions for issues discovered during development.
· Basic understanding of Soft Trim tooling and process feasibility experience is a plus. Requirements:
· DFMEA, FTA, Decision Matrix, DVP&R,
· CAD usage (Working knowledge of either IDEAS/NX or CATIA)
· Innovative, think inside and outside the box
· Quick Learner Focused on getting the job done and delivering at a high quality.
· Available for long hours when required.
· Ability to effectively lead a team.
· Effective communication skill within all levels of the organization and with outside organizations.
· Ability to rough sketch and communicate through pictorials.
· Well organized, Self starter, Work in teams and independently. Education:
· BSME Degree Experience:
