We're currently looking for a HVAC Test Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.
Summary:
Highly motivated, team oriented, test engineer needed to support vehicle development and continuous improvement activities in the area of automotive climate control.
Job Responsibilities:
· In this position, you are responsible to operate relatively independently as the expert in the assigned area, clarify the vehicle/component changing content as to how it could affect HVAC & Thermal performance, clarify required timing, determine testing to be conducted, create test plan, schedule project vehicle, create instrumentation list, clearly communicate with section manager and test lab lead technician, schedule test resources (wind tunnel, etc), acquire vehicle, and follow up after test to feedback lessons learned as well as write a clear and concise test report.
· Also required to resolve technical problems by coordinating cross functional teams, plan/lead engineering test result review meetings toward the development and validation of automotive HVAC systems, and lead/support/develop less experienced test engineers in your responsible area.
· Testing of HVAC systems and components to meet established requirements
· Active management of vehicle programs to achieve Performance, Quality, Cost and Delivery targets
· Closely coordinate with suppliers to achieve Nissan test requirements
· Conduct logical problem solving activities through root cause analysis and countermeasure proposal to effectively close concern issues
· Provide program management to support department milestone activities
· Identify current model quality and value up ideas as well as and support adoption
· Create and adopt continuous improvement activities for customer and company benefit Qualifications :
· BSME with minimum 5 years of relevant HVAC systems engineering validation
· High level written and oral communication skills
· Proficient in the use of CAD and Microsoft Office based operating systems
