We are currently looking for an Engineer- Field Quality Investigations to join our team at Nissan Canada in Brampton, Ontario .
POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Quality Investigation Department is responsible to improve customer satisfaction and reduce customer complaints by identifying quality concerns from the start of sales. This process includes incident identification, field investigations, warranty research, warranty part return evaluation, monitor customer and dealer surveys, conduct root cause reporting, to obtain incident resolution. Preparing technical publications, monitoring countermeasure effectiveness, and recurrence prevention. Nissan Canada Incorp supports all Nissan vehicles sold in Canada
POSITION FUNCTIONS
The following position function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. The position function statements reflect expectations of the fully trained, proficient incumbent who meets all performance criteria.
· Establishes priority and action plans for incident investigation and reporting.
· Identifies, investigates, and reports engineering issues regarding warranty and durability incidents.
· Conduct technical engineering investigations of customer reported incidents to identify the need for design or manufacturing countermeasure action.
· Issue countermeasure action requests.
· Responsible for potential safety or emissions related issues, informs issues to management and responsible for any investigations as required by management.
· Issues follow-up reports, conducts meetings and communicates with responsible parties to ensure countermeasures are being developed and are progressing on target with minimal management guidance.
· Ability to effectively communicate with upper level management and present / create executive level presentations.
· Ability to work cross functionally and with our overseas operations.
· Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualification factors reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.
· Bachelor's degree or Masters in a related engineering discipline required
· Minimum of 7 years' related professional experience required
· Minimum of 2+ years as a lead engineer providing coaching, training and otherwise contributing to staff development.
· Background in the automotive industry preferred. Must have an in depth understanding of automotive technology, product knowledge, product quality related information systems and related legal processes or field quality experience in related industry.
· Must be knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and quality control processes.
· Strong project management, data analysis, problem solving and communication skills.
· Ability to speak and read both English and French is preferred
