We're currently looking for an Employee Relationship Specialist to join our team in Canton, MS.
JOB SUMMARY
Supports and promotes a positive employee relations work environment; communicates daily with HR management and line management about employee issues and concerns; ensures consistent application of company policies and procedures; participates in the resolution of employee relation concerns, and in the corrective action process.
JOB FUNCTIONS
· Counsels employees regarding human resource policies and procedures relative to transfer, promotion, pay, benefits and conditions of employment; provides feedback to employees questions and concerns in a timely manner; serves as a liaison between employees and management to resolve issues.
· Advises HR management daily of employee issues or concerns such as attendance, job transfers and terminations; coordinates all employee movement such as transfers, promotions, and shift preference offers; ensures company policy is adhered to during employee movement.
· Counsels line management regarding employee relations issues such as attendance, payroll changes and shift preference offers; provides education to management on various state and federal regulations such as ADA and FMLA; ensures adherence to these regulations.
· Assists employees with issues related to Benefits, Payroll, or Systems; ensures that company records are updated to reflect any changes in employee personal information, payroll status, and benefits coverage.
· Coordinates activities to promote a positive employee environment; including award presentations, and tournaments; conducts employee surveys; promotes teamwork and open lines of communication between management and employees.
· Assists line management with investigations of any issues where corrective action may be necessary, such as inappropriate conduct, attendance and sexual harassment; coordinates termination procedures when they are initiated; participates in peer review cases.
· Conducts the initial and panel interviews with employment applicants; assists in orientation of new employees; monitors new employee performance and verifies that performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years as a Human Resources Generalist in an industrial environment. Thorough knowledge of employee relations, policy interpretation, and the human resource information system. Basic knowledge and understanding of the complete employee benefits package.
· A minimum of one to two years of related experience at a professional level required.
· BS in related field
· Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.
