Trim Developer- Global Apparel Materials

Job description

As our Trim Developer, you'll be responsible management from product commercialization through the manufacturing cycle for Licensed apparel. You'll be responsible for the execution of global trims sourcing, trims consolidation programs, vendor selection and management, and category trims consultation. You'll create and revise appropriate documentation for assigned trims ensuring all appropriate development documentation is maintained including product specs and prototypes. You'll track and facilitate trim development. You'll identify and address key issues and challenges in manufacturing and plan accordingly to deliver proven and tested trims. You'll monitor and communicate challenges throughout the testing process. You will also you'll stay abreast of market trends, new technology and consumer preferences. In addition, you'll collaborate with manufacturing to drive the pricing process and serve as a technical advisor on trims to Product Developers.

Desired profile

· Bachelor's degree in Apparel/Textile design or a related field
· 1 years' apparel industry experience
· 2 additional years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
· Knowledge of design and product creation process of apparel is preferred
· Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
· Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
· Ability to network and utilize internal and external resources
· Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism
· Knowledge of trim construction and properties is a plus
· Able to travel up to 5% of the time
