Flyknit Technician – Flyknit Product Creation

Job description

As a Nike FlyKnit Technician, you will provide technical assistance and support needed to operate machinery for the Knit Programmer and Knit Engineering category teams. You will set-up, run and adjust knit machines and support equipment. You will fill out work content documentation, report on project progress and cultivate a deep understanding of knit footwear. This will require:

·  Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects on up to 6 machines – self-motivation is critical
·  Operation of all department machines safely, observing all personal protective equipment requirements and practices
·  Collaboration with programmers and engineering team members to ensure project goals are met
·  A sense of adaptability and comfort with changing timelines. projects and deadlines
·  Ability to provide feedback on product issues in a timely manner
·  Ability to perform necessary preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal machine capability and reliability
·  Capable of taking measurements and data collection for simultaneous and competing projects
·  An in-depth understanding of the Stoll and Shima knit machine operation
·  Understanding of knit yarn material and nomenclature
·  A technical expertise and troubleshooting methods
·  A work area is clean and organized

Desired profile

·  High School Diploma
·  3-5 years of manufacturing or product development experience
·  Technical experience in Knit machine operation preferred
·  Experience in repetitive, light to moderate, manufacturing or equivalent environment
·  Able to stand, sit, walk, crouch, kneel, reach, climb, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear and feel
·  Have basic computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office programs
·  Lean manufacturing background is a plus
·  Understanding of metric weights and measurements
·  Able to read precise measuring instruments and add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions and decimals
·  Able to judge defects based on experience and training
·  Able to lift 50 lbs
