Job description

Converse is looking for a Sr Accountant, Tax and Treasury at our WHQ in Boston. This role is a key member of the Converse Global Controlling team, which is responsible for accounting and reporting for this $2 billion, multi-national company and one of the most iconic brands in the world. This opportunity is a first step into the Converse Controlling team and the ideal person will be able to grow within Converse or the Nike group of brands within two years.

A successful candidate will be passionate, high energy, will be a succinct and effective communicator, and will have a strong desire to learn and develop professionally in areas such as domestic & international tax, foreign currency transactions & hedging strategy, banking & treasury operations, and continuous process improvement/identifying achieving efficiencies. We are looking for a team player with a collaborative style, who can partner successfully with the functional leads within the Controller's group as well as other stakeholders including the Nike Tax and Treasury teams.

Key Responsibilities:
· Analyze and execute the company's foreign exchange transactions in support of the overall Nike FX hedging strategy.
· Analyze and record tax entries related to the current and deferred income tax provision, sales and use taxes, property taxes, and intercompany transfer pricing transactions.
· Perform financial statement analysis on key tax and treasury line items in support of Converse's internal control objectives.
· Manage bank accounts and process periodic settlements and wire transfers; stay up to date on treasury products and banking regulations.
· Deliver value-add analytics & reporting on liquidity and working capital measures.
· Learn and develop a proficiency in the use of the company's SAP ERP system and other reporting and analytical tools.
· Drive continuous process improvement initiatives within the tax and treasury functions. Recommend changes to existing processes to enhance internal controls and improve efficiency.
· Manage periodic sales and use tax audits to minimize tax liabilities.
· Participate in special projects, such as analyzing the impact of tax planning and treasury strategies and implementing new finance technology tools.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  At least 2+ year's of experience in the tax or assurance practice of a Big Four Accounting Firm
·  CPA (or working towards) preferred.
·  Industry experience with a Fortune 500/multinational company is preferred but not required.
·  Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
·  Self-motivated, detailed and deadline-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with varying priorities. Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment at a growing company.
·  Commitment to quality and a commitment to own the issues and ensure their successful resolution.
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
·  Strong MS Excel skills.
