Job description

As an NSRL Applied Researcher I, you will:
• Execute sports specific research projects (both applied and basic research) aimed at
delivering proven performance insights that lead to innovative footwear, apparel and
equipment concepts
• Help design and build prototypes for applied research
• Collect data on recreational and elite Nike athletes
• Become a resident expert in the research tools of the Nike Sport Research Lab
• Help develop new tools, equipment, and methods to enhance our sport research
capabilities

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Required:
- MSc in Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Kinesiology or commensurate experience
- Thorough understanding of anatomy, biomechanics principles, experimental designs and statistical procedures
- Experience with the tools used to collect and analyze biomechanics data, including motion capture systems and force plates, accelerometers, EMG, pressure sensors, VISUAL3D
- Strong computer programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Labview, VB.Net)
- Curious, driven, resourceful, and a creative problem solver
- Capable of working as a researcher on a multi-disciplinary product design and development team
- Passion for athletics and biomechanics
- Demonstrated understanding of sport performance & injury mechanisms
- Great team player and collaborator within the lab and across different business units
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good communication, presentation and people skills
- Experience working with test subjects

Preferred:
- Experience within scientific techniques involved in measuring soft tissue biomechanics and scanning technologies
- Exposure to industrial research
- Knowledge of apparel/equipment and product creation processes
