We are looking for highly motivated and talented AWS Cloud focused Sr. DevOps Engineers to become part of this team that enables the Data Science organization. Data science is a core competency of Nielsen, and as we evolve into a world of big data, ML, AI - speed of delivering our methodology to our production products is critical. You will be the key to designing and implementing environments which automate and optimize Data Science processes.
DevOps Duties and Responsibilities

This role is part of a development team to support a culture of DevOps and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment
·
Develop the foundations for CI/CD for our Data Science organization
·
Help establish organizational best practices around CI/CD
·
Design, develop, and implement automation tooling that enables the Data Science organization to deliver best-in-class services
·
Facilitate along with development teams to determine requirements around automation tools, configuration management, and deployment methodologies
·
Analyze current systems and provide insight into how they may be further optimized
·
Identify and correct deficiencies in existing automation tools
·
Bring energy and passion to your work day in and day out. Be strategic and tactical
Requirements and Qualifications
·
Bachelor's/Masters degree in CS, engineering, software engineering, or a related field
·
3+ years of experience as an established 'hands-on' member of a DevOps team.
·
Expert Level: Writing scripts for maintenance and automation in a variety of languages (Bash, Python).
·
Expert Level: DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Artifactory, Maven, Gradle)
·
Expert Level: Git, Git workflows, and common git server products such as BitBucket, GitHub
·
Expert Level: Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Terraform)
·
Strong knowledge: Automating deployment, scaling, mgmt of containerized applications, hands-on experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes
·
Strong knowledge: AWS/ECS/Fargate/Lambda/EC2/IAM Roles and Policies/etc..
·
Strong knowledge: Monitoring tools - Instana/Nagios
·
Big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark a plus
·
Familiarity with JIRA / Confluence
·
Strong Linux experience
