Software Developer

Ideal candidate would be a highly motivated, technically savvy individual with strong experience in C/C++ and Python backend development and familiar with Cloud based Big data technologies.

Job Purpose:

Develop software solutions for the International TAM business. Specifically, the development of Nielsen's production of Television and Radio measurement production solutions. In this role, it is expected that the candidate will help develop the next generation software using modern technologies/platforms and help provide support in migrating from legacy solutions. The candidate is expected to work in partnership with other team members in fast paced, agile environment. This requires not only the technical expertise that will be required but also collaboration and soft skills to work well in team environment.

Key Responsibility:

·  Develop, test and document new software features required by the business
·  Become knowledgeable on existing software solutions in order to maintain them
·  Support migration from legacy solutions
·  Investigate application incidents for missing or incorrect functionality
·  Perform code reviews

Role requirements (Essential)

·  2-3 years of experience working on enterprise level software
·  Experience with Python and Shell scripting (bash)
·  Experience with C/C++
·  Experience with Linux
·  Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational database system
·  Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to change
·  Good command of English, further European languages preferred
·  Problem solving skills
·  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with other stakeholders
·  Ability to work independently and within a team environment
·  Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
·  Knowledge of version control, particularly Git/Bitbucket and SVN

Role requirements (Preferred)

·  Desirable knowledge of Pandas library
·  Desirable knowledge of Spark
·  Desirable knowledge of Firebird relational database system
·  Desirable knowledge of Visual Studio C++ and MFC
·  Desirable knowledge of Microservice architectures (e.g. Docker)
·  Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g. Scrum)
