Position Summary


Responsible for interacting with veterinarians and key staff members of veterinary practices and teaching hospitals. Proactively build Purina ProPlan Veterinary Diets sales volume through support of the sales team in achieving sales and communication targets. Enable Purina to be seen as the primary resource for information and strategy to improve companion animal nutrition and care by the veterinary community.


Major Responsibilities

·  Enhance Nestlé Purina Petcare (NPP) image in the Veterinary channel, leading to enhanced recommendations for Purina branded products:
·  Represent Purina at selected veterinary medical association and professional organization meetings.
·  Represent Purina at veterinary schools within the region.
·  Participate in the speaker recommendation for the CE program at the yearly Purina St-Louis and Kansas City symposium
·  Responsible to participate at targeted regional CE lectures
·  Develop Veterinary Communication Strategy:
·  Develop a Regional Communication Plan to leverage information from NPP to Veterinary Influencers (KOLs) in assigned schools/hospitals/universities within the region.
·  Proactively inform/advise on emerging nutritional trends & communicate them internally and with external customers.
·  Stay current in assigned areas of veterinary medicine.
·  Train Veterinarians, Clinic Support Staff, Key Influencers and Sales Force:
·  Present to groups ranging from 1 to 50+ people.
·  Communicate the nutritional benefits of Nestlé Purina's diets versus the competition in order that our customers and sales people can effectively promote and sell our products with confidence.
·  Work with the NSG field sales to better promote Purina ProPlan Veterinary Diet ® ' nutritional advantage to clinics.
·  Provide ongoing technical and nutritional support to the field sales team as well as NPP clients:
·  Respond to highly technical questions from veterinarians.
·  Support field staff in answering nutrition or technical questions.
·  Support field staff by spending time in each territory.
·  Interact with US technical counterparts.
·  Help to review sales pieces and other support materials for technical accuracy, medical appropriateness and utility to practitioners.

Qualifications

·  Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. A Board Certification in Internal Medicine would be an asset.
·  At least 3 years of experience in small animal clinical practice.
·  Experience in Canadian Veterinary Industry or Academia an asset.
·  Demonstrated commitment to working in a team environment and to inspiring excellence.
·  Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
·  Strong communication skills and expertise presenting to both small and large groups.
·  Excellent computer skills, specifically with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
