Project Manager in Nutrition & Metabolic Health

Demonstrating strong organizing skills and leadership , you will be working in a dynamic, multi-cultural and interdisciplinary research environment. As a project manager you will be driving and coordinating currently ongoing and future studies within the Nutrition and Metabolic Health core by delivering key knowledge and translatable ideas/skills to achieve NIHS objectives.
Lausanne is home to the 3 strongholds of Nestlé's fundamental research: the Nestlé Research Center (NRC), the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) and the Nestlé Clinical Development Unit (CDU). They all investigate the complex interactions between nutrition, health and wellness.
For its part, the EPFL campus based NIHS was inaugurated in 2011 and employs over 100 scientists. The Institute studies nutrition at the molecular level and is doing research to understand the complex relationship between nutrition, lifestyle and inherited factors. Their aim is to identify new targeted nutritional solutions with strong scientific underpinning and clinical proof that will help to promote and maintain health. Their areas of interest are brain, metabolic (obesity, diabetes) and gut health, as well as healthy ageing.
Key responsibilities
· Follow-up and manage key basic research projects in Nutrition & Metabolic Health team
· Understand the missions, objectives and major activities of Nutrition and Metabolic Health team and connect them to other activities at NIHS.
· Present projects and updates in front of different internal and external audiences
· Coordinate approval of the projects by our partner companies as business endorsement/brief and review the projects outcomes
· Interface with NIHS groups/platforms & business partners, organize meetings/workshops
· Liaise with potential partner companies and observe competitors' activities and strengths in Metabolic Health business and scientific developments/products
· Create and update reports in NPDI system
· Interact with, prepare and track clinical study documents in accordance with internal and external ethical, legal and quality standards.
· Liaise with Clinical Project Managers and data analysts to aid the timely update and integration of clinical data to the management and research team.
Education and experience
· PhD or Master degree in the fields of Human biochemistry, physiology or genetics or related fields.
· Min 2 years' experience in project management, preferably with research background in industry (pharma, nutrition)
· Broad knowledge in human metabolic disorders and roles of drugs and nutrition in health & diseases
· Experience with human clinical research studies, knowledge of regulatory requirements for human research studies in Switzerland
· Fluency in English
