Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Transport Planner position provides the tactical execution of the transportation team through load planning, load tendering, and load scheduling functions to meet internal and external customer expectations while ensuring efficient and cost-efficient transport operations
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational:
· Efficiently plan, tender, and schedule deliveries using SAP TM system, covering all transportation scenarios (eg. direct, multi-stop, cross-dock, trans-shipment, ..)
· Take initiative and make decisions independently weighing customer needs/ warehouse capacity/carrier capacity and escalating as appropriate
· Utilizes the TMS SAP TM system and published lanes & rates while balancing service and costs.
· Rate issues investigation & trigger resolution for planned transports
· Work to optimize warehouse and deployment schedules, carrier equipment, mode, lane costs, and on time delivery
· Daily interaction with cross-functional areas including Customer Service, Supply Team, carriers, and warehouses
· Perform operational health checks : Freight Orders without rates, customer-sharing compliance, Open Tenders
· Escalation on refusals with delayed disposition
· Generate and analyze reports to measure and manage performance
Tactical:
· Review and approval of adhoc transport bids within its approval limit (eg. less than Php50,000)
· In TM, Review and approval of customer demurrage claim entered by Carrier in the Freight Orders
· As an individual and a team member, support Cost Savings Initiatives, process improvement and lane compliance.
· Influence and hold Carriers/ Warehouse/ Customer Service/Supply Planning accountable for agreements
Administration:
· Builds strong working relationships with internal and external customers including Carriers/ Warehouse/ Customer Service/Supply Planning
· Daily communication on exceptions including changes to warehouse/ transport requirements. Provide input to resolve capacity and service needs, opportunities to make changes to lanes, commitments and plans.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Direct supervision from Transport Planner Lead or Regional Transport Lead. The expectation is that this individual is able to work independently in solving issues and taking initiative to execute with minimal supervision.
SUPERVISION GIVEN:
The LoadTransport Planners have to be able to influence others in their day-to-day activities and projects. Influencing and holding Carriers/ Facility/ Customer Service accountable for agreements is highly important.
FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:
As an individual and a team member, support Cost Savings Initiatives, process improvement and lane compliance. This position has to weigh service levels and costs.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
· Experienced but open to new ways of working

EXPERIENCE:
· Transportation and / or logistics experience preferred. Load planning and SAP experience sa plus.
· Experience in and tactical, and fast-paced environment a plus.
· Have decision-making and negotiating skills and geographical knowledge
· Experience in a Customer Service a plus
SKILLS:
· Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must have the ability to quickly adapt plans, negotiate, make changes and update stakeholders when issues arise
· Analytical, decision-making skills and good judgment is required
· Must be able to function in a team environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook Programs is required
WORKING HOURS, PATTERNS & ENVIRONMENT:
In alignment to order processing cut-offs, Transport planner will
report on a 5-day workweek from Monday – Saturday starting between 8am and finishing from 5pm to 10pm. May extend during peak periods of the month . May extend during peak periods of the month
He/ She will be based in the Head Office and will visit distribution center for key meetings and operations huddle
