Here at Nestlé we are currently recruiting for a focused individual to join our Finance function within our Costing team, as a Financial Analyst. This really is a great opportunity for somebody looking to develop their finance experience whilst working with a wide range of stakeholders across our UK&I businesses.
A little bit about our Finance function
Our highly-skilled, successful Finance function is a core part of Nestlé's success within the UK and Ireland, offering a real range of career opportunities, including both Operational and Commercial finance and specialisms such as Treasury and Pensions. As you'd expect, the team is a large one, offering a chance to diversify and broaden your experience throughout your career.
What can you expect?
You'll support the corporate cost centre heads (basically our heads of departments!) in preparing quarterly forecasts for their areas. You'll pro-actively monitor their budgets ensuring actual versus planned performance is understand and both risks and opportunities are highlighted through delivering value adding insights. You'll do this through the preparation of regular reports and where necessary you'll coach and support both existing and new costs centre heads on the budget process ensuring their approach is as efficient as possible.
You'll also:
· Support and co-ordinate the Marketing and other general expenses (MOGE) costing process through period end close and monthly forecasting.
· Coach and support the areas you partner with in their budget preparation whether that be for our corporate functions and/or our categories.
· Accurately complete monthly recharges to other Nestlé Markets as and when required.
· Be a key player in supporting the wider MOGE team with adhoc reporting when needed.
· Have a pro-active approach when supporting the wider MOGE and Business Analytics teams in the maintenance of the business analytics MOGE report.
· Ensure the Market is compliant with costing standards set by our head office in Switzerland whilst driving an awareness to key stakeholders of any changes to our practices.
· Be a key player in identifying and driving improvements in the end-to-end cost centre process, providing support and training to relevant stakeholders when needed.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will ideally have a finance degree with some previous finance experience already under your belt; You might currently be studying towards a finance qualification, although this is not essential. For the right individual study support may be given. You'll thrive when working in an environment that isn't always black and white, providing guidance to the cost centre heads you support to achieve the very best results. You'll feel comfortable to challenge the statuesque, have a real passion to learn and understand the importance of building positive relationship across a wide range of stakeholders at different levels across our business. Coupled with this you will have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and understand how to present financial information in a manner that makes sense to stakeholders that sit outside of our finance function.
